This Privacy Policy explains how lazynoman (“I,” “me,” “my”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit lazynoman.com. I take your privacy seriously and aim to be fully transparent about what data is processed on this site.

a. Analytics (Google Tag Manager)

This site uses Google Tag Manager (GTM-WC6RL4N6) to load Google Analytics. These services use cookies and similar technologies to collect anonymized usage data, including:

  • General geographic location (country/city level, not precise coordinates)
  • Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

This data is aggregated and anonymized. I use it solely to understand which content resonates with readers and to improve the site. Google’s use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

b. Comments (Waline)

This site uses Waline, a self-hosted comment system running on Vercel at https://waline-two-eosin.vercel.app/. When you leave a comment, you may provide:

  • A display name (required to post)
  • An email address (optional; used for Gravatar avatars and notification replies)
  • A website URL (optional; displayed with your comment)
  • The content of your comment

Your email is stored securely and is never shared publicly, sold, or used for marketing. It is only used to fetch your Gravatar profile picture (if available) and to notify you of replies if you opt in. Comment data is stored on the Waline server and is only accessible to me as the site owner.

c. Cloudflare

This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard web server logs (IP address, request timestamps, pages requested) as part of its content delivery and security services. This data is handled in accordance with Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

2. How I Use Your Information

I use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To understand reading patterns and improve content
  • To enable and manage comments on posts
  • To maintain site security and availability
  • To comply with legal obligations

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Cookies

This site uses minimal cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and track session information. Waline may set a session cookie for comment functionality. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

4. Data Retention

Comment data is retained indefinitely so that comment threads remain intact. If you want a comment removed, contact me and I will honor the request. Analytics data is retained per Google’s data retention policies (currently 26 months).
